Nothing. It is a free service available to you when you buy a compatible eKit SIM card service.

How much does it cost to post a journal entry from my eKit mobile phone?

It costs the same as the cost to send a text message from your eKit SIM card service.

How much does it cost for family and friends to send me a text message from my Travel Journal?

US 15c per text message.

How much does it cost for family and friends to call me from my Travel Journal?

It is free for family and friends to call you. It will cost you the same as if you were placing the call. For example, if you are in France and your friend calls you from the USA, you will be charged the per minute rate for a call from France to the USA.

Is there a connection fee?

A connection fee may apply depending on your SIM card service.
